Blue Energy are proud developers of renewable energy infrastructure. To reach the point of being ready to construct takes a lot of planning, but it all becomes worth it once on site. You can find more information on the projects mentioned here in the Our Projects and News sections of the site.
On this page you will find time lapse videos shot during the construction of some of our projects to show just how we build our wind and solar farms. Click on a project button to view the video.
Hill of Auquhirie – Time Lapse
Blue Energy is pleased to present a time lapse video showing the construction of the 6.9MW Hill of Auquhirie Wind Farm. The construction began in the summer of 2012 and was completed Spring 2013. The site is now fully operational and generating clean electricity from the three Enercon turbines. You can find more information about Hill of Auquhirie in the Our Projects and News areas of the site.
The making of the Hill of Auquhirie Time Lapse video:
One camera was positioned to a fixed vantage point to capture all 3 turbines in their entirety throughout their construction.
The two remaining cameras were positioned to capture alternative views and were repositioned every three weeks to record every detail of the construction from laying foundations to the assembling of the blades. The project was often hampered by the low cloud, rain and snow during Scottish winter months but with the cameras’ resilience to the elements we were able to create a final time lapse that showed these fascinating constructions come to life amongst the breath taking beauty of the Scottish landscape.
