Chris is a Chartered Surveyor and the driving force behind Blue Energy. Having formed the company with Mark Healey, Chris is leading Blue Energy’s growth strategy with the aim of the company becoming a leading portfolio consolidator for onshore wind assets in the UK. Chris brings a wealth of experience to the renewable energy industry from the property sector. Prior to launching Blue Energy, Chris enjoyed a diverse career in the property industry, much of it spent at a senior and executive level, which encompassed investment, development, valuation, funding and planning. He was recognized as a respected advisor and became Regional Head of Office at Savills PLC, Manchester before establishing a property and investment company, which specialised in environmental remediation and large-scale mixed-use urban regeneration projects.Simon Foy - Commercial Director and Company Secretary
Simon is an English qualified solicitor with extensive experience and expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, advising on large infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. At Blue Energy he serves as General Counsel and Company Secretary and operates in a broad commercial and transactional management role. Prior to joining Blue Energy, Simon was an equity partner at Pannone LLP where he headed the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Practice and has been Blue Energy’s external legal and commercial advisor since the company’s inception. Simon has worked at leading international law firms Simmons & Simmons (where he trained) and DLA Piper and has also held a number of senior in-house legal roles, including Legal Director at Edison Mission Energy and General Counsel at AMEC Global Renewables. He holds a BA (Hons) and an M-Phil from Oxford University.Douglas Coleman - Chief Projects Director
Doug joined Blue Energy in 2011 and brings with him a wealth of technical, commercial, financial and project management experience in the domestic and international renewable energy markets. As Chief Projects Director, Doug leads much of Blue Energy’s M&A activity and is responsible for developing our project portfolio in the UK and internationally. A civil engineer by background, Doug has over 35 years experience in the environmental infrastructure industry, of which the last 20 years has been dedicated to the energy sector, pioneering many renewable projects and technologies in the UK and internationally. In addition to his impressive career achievements with, amongst others, FLSmiljo of Denmark, United Utilities UK, EnergyMixx Switzerland and Beijing based China Green Energy, he has sat in a professional capacity on the Boards of the Renewables Advisors Board, the Renewable Energy Association and the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy.Stuart Noble - Finance Director
Stuart is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience gained with SME’s and larger corporate businesses in the UK and internationally prior to joining Blue Energy in 2011. Stuart’s career includes various finance and commercial roles at a number of private and public companies both in the UK and overseas. Stuart combines strategic vision with strong financial control. Matt joined Blue Energy in 2012 to lead the project funding and financial management of Blue Energy’s pipeline of renewable energy projects. Prior to joining Blue Energy, Matt spent 4 years heading up the structured finance team at Falck Renewables where he had responsibility for funding new wind and solar projects across Europe as well as managing a European renewables debt portfolio of some £350 million (over 350 MW). This included the debt financing of major wind projects in the UK and France. Prior to this, Matt spent 4 years at Ernst & Young as a corporate finance advisor in the Environmental Infrastructure team where he advised clients on a number of high profile renewable energy transactions including mergers & acquisitions, project finance, strategy and transaction support in the UK, France, Spain and Canada. Matt holds an MSci in Geography, specialising in Climate Change and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.Simon Tonge - Construction and Operations Director
Simon is responsible for the construction and operation of Blue Energy’s UK projects. Simon has very broad and extensive experience in the construction of international infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy and transport sectors. Prior to his role at Blue Energy, Simon worked for MDA Group working on a variety of large international construction projects and was later an equity partner at EC Harris in Manchester. In 2006 Simon set up Stone, a project and construction management practice, in response to client demands for “hands on” strategic management, development consultancy along with traditional project management, quantity surveying and cost management services.Helen Rodgers - Senior Technical Manager - Asset Management
Helen joined the growing Asset Management team as Senior Technical Manager to lead the management of our portfolio of Operating Wind Farms and ensure delivery of high yield and availability whilst protecting long term asset value. Having previously worked for Wind Prospect Operations managing onshore wind farms for a number of clients, including one of the largest farms in England, Helen has commercial and operations management experience across the range of multi-megawatt turbines operating in the UK (Enercon, Senvion, Siemens, Vestas, Nordex, Gamesa and Acciona). Prior to joining WPO Helen was a research associate in Offshore Renewable Energy Deployment and has an MEng and PhD in Aerospace Engineering.Neal Reid - Project Manager
Neal is a Development Manager with fifteen years experience in the energy industry. Neal joined Blue Energy as part of the RidgeWind acquisition and is focused on the development of Scottish onshore wind opportunities. He recently consented the 108.8MW Beinneun project in the Highlands which achieved consent from the Scottish Government in less than a year from submission. Neal has previously worked for ScottishPower and BG / Lattice Group and has worked in various capacities on over 1.4GW of onshore wind projects throughout the UK, of which over 1.1GW is consented or operational. He has experience across the development cycle from site finding and securing landowners, through project development and EIA, to consent and discharge of planning conditions. He also has experience of managing successful planning appeals, and has been involved in due diligence prior to purchase of windfarm assets. Neal holds a BSc in Biology from St Andrews University, and an MSc in Environmental Protection and Management from Edinburgh University.Jayne Ridings - Office Manager
Jayne is our Office Manager with over 25 years previous experience in office and facilities management in the sectors of law, property and banking. Having worked within the legal sector for 15 of those years, Jayne brings to Blue Energy her wealth of knowledge of change and personnel management having successfully completed studying for her CIPD. Jayne oversees our HR requirements, Facilities Management, Health and Safety and staff welfare.Sarah Armstrong - Senior Commercial Manager
Sarah is a practising solicitor qualified in England and Wales with significant experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors and joined Blue Energy as a Senior Commercial Manager. Sarah provides commercial and legal support across all of the Blue Energy group’s projects, with a particular focus on project finance and project management activities. Prior to joining Blue Energy, Sarah was a Senior Associate at DLA Piper (where she trained) advising developers, equity investors and funders on a range of renewable energy and energy from waste projects, as well as other infrastructure sectors including transport, healthcare and education projects.David Horsley - Investment Associate
David is a qualified Chartered Accountant with experience in the financial services, energy and mining sectors. David joined Blue Energy as an Investment Associate and he provides support across the corporate finance and asset management functions, with a particular focus on project financing and M&A valuation. Prior to joining Blue Energy, David was a Manager at Deloitte advising multinational enterprises on a range of tax and transfer pricing projects including valuations, group restructurings and debt financings.Stephen Robinson - Project Accountant
Stephen joined the Blue Energy Finance Team in November 2013 having previously undertaken various finance and commercial roles in mostly private SME businesses. With a background in commercial accounting in the construction and utility sectors, Stephen is engaged as our Project Accountant who monitors construction and operational budgets and forecasts.Alex Price - Asset Manager
Alex is an onshore wind Asset Manager who joined the team in September 2015 to provide technical and commercial management across Blue Energy’s expanding portfolio of operational wind farms. Alex has experience working with a range of OEMs, DNOs and with Ofgem. Prior to joining Blue Energy, Alex worked for ASC Renewables managing a portfolio of multi-megawatt wind turbines constructed as part of a joint-venture with a water utility company. Alex has completed a DNV GL Energy Academy course on optimising wind farm performance and has a LLB (Hons) Law degree from the University of Leeds.Caroline Crossley - Purchase Ledger Clerk
Caroline joined Blue Energy in August 2015 as our Purchase Ledger Clerk. Her role consists of managing multiple ledgers across several group companies and she also provides administration support to our Finance Team.
Caroline has 25 years experience in finance, banking and the civil service, which includes 10 years working as the Finance Officer in a large secondary school.
